Summary:Responsible for coordinating employee health services such as health surveillance, employee workers'' compensation benefits, and safety and injury management for Avera St. Luke's employees and area businesses, as applicable. Manages the Avera St. Luke''s workers'' compensation program. Coordinates case management of injured employees. Assists employees and department directors in returning injured employees to work. Collaborates with the Safety Officer, Safety Committee, Infection Control and Injury Management Team to promote effective safety and infection control practices and coordinates annual required testing to meet OSHA standards. Maintains OSHA and workers'' comp records for medical center. Maintains awareness of applicable OSHA regulations. Maintains confidential medical records of employees as required by SD Health Department, SD Department of Labor, JCAHO and OSHA. Provides new and current employees with education on Employee Health policies and procedures. Promotes employee wellness in cooperation with the Education Department. Assists with the coordination of the Employee Assistance Program. Is responsible for payment of bills, statistics and communication with providers. Assists with tracking and trending of employee injuries and illnesses. Coordinates annual flu shot program. Provides on-site health and wellness and coordination of injury management programs at area businesses. MARGINAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Clerical duties such as answering phones, filing, billing, data entry, monthly reports and correspondence. WORK ENVIRONMENT:Primary office environment. Frequent visits throughout facilities. May be exposed to blood/body fluids and communicable diseases. LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:Current license recognized by the SD Board of Nursing for practicing in SD. CPR certification. Certification by American Association of Occupational Health Nurse is desirable.
Experience:Two years'' experience in Occupational Health or related field is preferred. SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES:Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Aptitude for PC software such as word processing and RiskMaster. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
