Job Description
Full-time, 72 hours per pay period. Rotating 12 hour shifts (7a-7p and 7p-7a) including every other to every third weekend and holiday.
The Registered Nurse in Intensive Care is responsible for utilizing the nursing process to provide individualized nursing care of critically ill adult and geriatric medical and surgical patients. Some duties expected of this role include but are not limited to: assessment of all patients, interpreting and responding to homodynamic monitoring results, anticipating and responding to patient complications, situations, and/or crisis. Expected to utilize technology to enhance quality patient care. Expected to collaborate with physicians and other healthcare workers, delegate and supervise the unlicensed personnel and serve in leadership roles on dept/organizational tasks forces and committees.
Must have effective communication skills to collaborate, negotiate, and resolve conflicts, situations, and/or issues with peers, other healthcare workers, physicians and/or patients/families. Must have strong critical thinking skills to analyze data and appropriately respond to changing situations. Must be able to handle stressful situations with skill and effective coping. Must have strong technical skill ability to utilize equipment. Must be willing to self-develop and be self-directed. Some equipment expected in the role include but is not limited to: ventilator management, hemodynamic monitoring (swan ganz, arterial lines, venous access devices), rhythm interpretation and response, Intra aortic balloon pumping, mini kidney (CVVH), intracranial pressure monitoring and external ventricular devices. Must be able to supervise unlicensed personnel, effectively delegate and assume over all accountability for own patients.
The RN functions within the scope and standards of nursing practice as outlined in the South Dakota Nurse Practice Act and Administrative Rules. The Sanford Nursing Practice recognizes the Scope and Standards of Practice (2004) and the Code of Ethics for Nurses with Interpretive Statements (2001) as published by the American Nurses Association as the foundation for nursing care delivery.
When students are providing patient care, treatment, and/or services as a part of their training, any/all employees may be asked to supervise the students.
Required Skills
Graduation from a NLN or AACN accredited nursing program is strongly preferred. Graduate from an approved nursing program is acceptable. Bachelor's Degree in nursing preferred.
ACLS and PALS certified within nine months of employment; TNCC certified within first year of employment; CCRN preferred; 2-year previous experience or critical care experience preferred. Currently licensed with the applicable State Nursing Board and/or possess multistate licensure privileges as required by position.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
