Cartographic Technician
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

Cartographic Technician Series). BASIC REQUIREMENT:
A. Experience in cartography or in a related field such as photogrammetry or geodesy, where the work required similar knowledge and skills. I have at least one year of specialized experience or the equivalent, comparable to at least the GS-04 grade level (obtained in either the public or private sector). This experience includes compiling information from sources, assemble and sort into a complete map; cadastral survey and grid layout; perform drafting, digitizing, integrating, and editing/reviewing in connection with cartographic products. -OR- B. Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree that included at least 18 semester hours in courses such as those shown above for GS-3. Examples of acceptable courses include cartography, astronomy, geodesy, photogrammetry, oceanography, computer science, land surveying, geophysics, remote sensing, algebra, trigonometry, and calculus. Not more than 9 of the 18 semester hours should have been in mathematics or statistics. ADDITIONAL EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
In addition to meeting the basic entry level qualification requirements, applicants must have the following:
GS-5:
If the basic requirement is met, that is qualifying for the GS-5 grade level. All qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement. Merit Promotion candidates must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the announcement closing date. Preference in filling vacancies is given to qualified Indian candidates in accordance with the Indian Preference Act of 1934 (title 25, USC Section 472).
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
