Secretary (Office Assistant)

Responds to requests for administrative information and information specific to the professional disciplines. Prepares and submits requisitions for supplies, equipment, and private consultants. Receives and controls all incoming correspondence and mail on a daily basis. Researches, assembles and summarizes information as required from files and documents To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. BASIC REQUIREMENT(S):
The following shows the amounts of education and/or experience required to qualify for this position:
GS-04:
One (1) year of general experience or two (2) years of education above the high school level. GS-05:
One (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least GS-4 grade level or 4 years above high school. General

Progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled. Specialized
Experience:
Experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. NOTE:
Equivalent combinations of education and experience are qualifying for all grade levels and positions for which both education and experience are acceptable. Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks. Examples of specialized experience for GS-5:
Provide clerical and administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, timekeeping, preparing and reconciling travel vouchers and purchase requests, type a variety of correspondence, maintain files; receiving telephone calls and visitors; utilizing various software systems. You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement. Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements:
Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP).

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
