Current federal employees applying for a promotion opportunity must meet time-in-grade (TIG) requirement of 52 weeks of service at the GS-11 level. Specialized experience requirements for the GS-12 grade level:
Applicants must posses one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-11); or its non-Federal equivalent that demonstrates:
Experience in the development, overseeing or recommending of directives, standards, guides, or procedures of statewide rural housing operations (or assisting in those functions); experience implementing or conducting state internal control reviews to ensure the integrity of financial and accounting information or soundness of accountability practices (or assisting in those functions); experience in conducting training to staff or customers on Rural Development's (RD) housing programs; experience assisting in implementing agency outreach and marketing efforts; experience ensuring fair housing requirements are met while delivering RD loan and grant programs; experience providing leadership, or sufficient experience in underwriting and servicing SFH loans and grants, or overall program experience in SFH programs, to ensure staff members have the tools, training and technical assistance or oversight they need to accomplish their jobs; must possess sufficient program knowledge and underwriting and servicing experience to provide guidance to other housing specialists.Specialized experience is experience that is directly related to the job being advertised.
